What Does It Mean To Be Clairvoyant

What Does It Mean To Be Clairvoyant?

The word clairvoyant, originating in the 17th century, comes from French. "Clair" means clear. "Voyance" means vision. Clairvoyance means "a clear vision."

However, this vision is not ordinary vision. It is, in fact, extraordinary vision. It is vision beyond the ordinary, a perception that comes from an extra sense, and it is often referred to as an extrasensory perception.

Someone with clairvoyance is someone who sees clearly--but beyond the five senses of sight, smell, taste, sound, and touch. Someone who can experience things beyond the five senses is said to have a sixth sense. The psychic use of any of the five senses creates this sixth sense.

In the case of clairvoyance, this sixth sense is extra sight.

Sometimes, a psychic can have even more than a sixth sense--although there is no name for this phenomena. A clairvoyant can also be clairaudient. They can not only see things not visible to the physical eyes, but they can also hear things out of the range of the physical ears. Some clairvoyants even have clairgustance, the ability to taste a substance without inserting it into their mouth.

Clairvoyance, also known as anomalous cognition in paranormal research, is perception of the past or the future. Seeing something in the past is called retro cognition. Seeing something in the future is called precognition. A clairvoyant can be either retro cognitive, precognitive, or both.

Remote viewers are trained in clairvoyance, but clairvoyants are not necessary remote viewers. Remote viewing requires a facilitator to take the psychic to a theta brainwave level and guide what they are seeing. A clairvoyant, however, can see into the past or future spontaneously, without the need for a facilitator.

An example of a famous clairvoyant who was precognitive is Nostradamus. Nostradamus, a 16th century French Jew of the Christian faith, wrote 950 quatrains and accurately predicted the two world wars that happened in the 20th century. Some experts even say that he predicted the attack in New York that destroyed the twin towers.

Equally impressive was Edgar Cayce, a clairvoyant who demonstrated the astonishing range of retro cognition. Over the course of 43 year, he gave 14,000 readings and mentioned Atlantis 700 times. He also referred to a continent lost in the Pacific Ocean known as Lemuria. He clearly described the life of the people of Atlantis and Lemuria.

Clairvoyants are naturally gifted and some like Nostradamus and Cayce can be absolutely incredible.
